An incredible place. The beach was fantastic for snorkelling.

Very pleasant stay in the villa. direct access to a beach but dangerous for swimming. The sound of the waves lulled our nights. The pool was quite cool, which is normal in winter.

The villa was very well equipped, nothing was missing and we had the pleasure of having provisions in the fridge and a really delicious prepared meal. Thank you again for this kind attention.

Cleaning is done daily and laundry can be requested. Meals can be prepared by Guyanne, shopping must be done. A car is essential as there are no shops nearby. Takeaway Sunshine fusion delivers free of charge.

A wonderful break for the body, mind and soul in a tranquil setting. Wonderful hospitality, great Mauritian food cooked by our friendly housekeeper and a magical experience all-round.

Superb house, pleasant to live in with the swimming pool and the sea! Quiet (you have to appreciate the sound of the waves!!!) We enjoyed having Guyane, who was very pleasant and prepared delicious meals for us every day! Spacious and comfortable house. We had a great stay. Sophie and her husband were very responsive and always answered our requests.

Les Dunes is a fabulous spot. The area is private and very quiet which suited us. Easy walk to get a few supplies if needed, otherwise there are two good supermarkets within 15 mins drive. Sophie was super helpful with transfer, car hire (delivered to the door) and local suggestions for trips/restaurants etc. We hope to return.

Sophie was a perfect host. Very helpful, proactive, quick response. Also the daily help (Guyanne) and caretaker (Jim) were very especially helpful and friendly. We were unlucky with the weather cause of a cyclone rushed over the island. Despise that was causing some understandable problems. We still think the house itself needs some maintenance.

Sophie and Bernard at the head of the Book Mauritius Villas company were very efficient when booking the house. They were also very available on site.

We rented villa Dunes 1 for a week in December 2023. The house is spacious, comfortable and has charm with its thatched roof. The interior is just a little dark. The kitchen is well equipped.

We enjoyed the large shaded terrace which overlooks the beach. As the coral reef is very close to the beach, the waves of the Indian Ocean crash there and the sound of the waves pleasantly lulled our days and nights.

The beach is wild and generally deserted. As the coral reef is very close to the beach in front of the house, swimming is difficult because the bottom is covered with coral and the water is shallow. We see several types of fish there. Swimming in churning waters is possible by walking 100m to the left or right of the villa.

In short, the Dunes 1 villa is the ideal place if you are looking for tranquility, rest and relaxation during your vacation.

We had a very good stay at the villa Les Dunes, the house is very pleasant and the environment is peaceful. We had the beach to ourselves! Note that the nearest supermarket is about 15 minutes away by car, so it is advisable to hire a car or book the services of a driver. Guyanne, who does the cleaning, cooking and laundry, is very kind and discreet, so is Jim, the caretaker. We hope to come back on holiday to this villa!

We had a mega great stay in this holiday home. Guyanne and Jim were very discreet and we always felt comfortable with them. You can park your car right outside the door. What was in the fridge at arrival was also great after the long flight. You could just arrive. And the food prepared daily was always plentiful and extremely tasty. The house is really excellent and if we had any concerns, we were always helped immediately. This house and this service are absolutely worth it. THANK YOU for that!

House with its feet in the water Everything is organised to make your stay a very pleasant one. Guyane, very discreet and efficient, took very good care of us and delighted our taste buds. We are delighted with our stay.

A beach house like a picture book: only a few metres from the sea, the well-kept wooden terrace with pool goes directly into the beach and is protected from view by dense bushes.

The sea was a bit rougher than expected, the beach too, but snorkelling there was great fun - fins/swim shoes are recommended because of sea urchins. We loved the house itself, especially the location away from the hustle and bustle and tourism. Upstairs an airy bedroom with lovingly designed en-suite bathroom and beautiful wooden floor. Downstairs the open plan living and dining area with a second bathroom and two more bedrooms. The kitchen was top of the range and catered for more than basic needs, even providing aluminium foil etc.

We were greeted warmly with lots of info from Sophie and a wonderful meal from the housekeeper Guyanne - she cooks fantastically and comes daily on request. Also the caretaker Jim can always be approached. One of the nicest Airbnbs we have had so far!

We booked the house for our family (2 adults, 4 children) in September 2022. Sophie gave us a very warm welcome & farewell and provided us with a wonderful ``starter pack`` in the fridge. The house is stylish and very well equipped. The lunch prepared was delicious.

The location is quiet and perfect for relaxing. The sea is beautiful but more for snorkelling than swimming. However, there are other beaches nearby where the sea is calmer. We can highly recommend the house.

What a Super host. We spent nine days at Sophie’s and it was marvellous. The pre-check in information that was provided was really great and covered everything about what to expect. Sophie was there to greet us and To our surprise there was a full meal prepared, that was very nice of her. Sophie was very welcoming and very professional. Cleaning service was much appreciated. The house is beautiful and the area is very nice.

This is the place to spend a relaxed holiday away from the large hotels! You feel not like a tourist but a little like home away from home. The house is wonderful with its huge terrasse protected from the wind and the pool hidden from views.

Guyanne is a real pearl! We enjoyed the dishes she cooked for us so much :-)) and Jim took care of the pool and the cleanliness of the beach in front of the house every day.

The sea is quite rough but that is normal in this area and you can swim and snorkel right in front of the house.

Only one little thing to mention:
There are some mice inside the whole house (also in the bedroom 1st floor) and they are not shy anymore. One night they nibbled our soap...
We did not care a lot but there are maybe other guests who are not that relaxed...

Extremely unusual to find such an idyllic spot and lovely hosts. Excellent value and really exceeded expectations, we will go back and would not hesitate to recommend it with enthusiasm to friends and family.

We spent 2 great weeks at the villa Les Dunes 1. It really fitted all our expectations. Far from tourism, we have wonderfully recovered.

A heartfelt ``thank you`` to Guyanne, who cooks well and to Jim, who is always helpful and prepares the garden early in the morning. For people who need action rather not suitable.

We stayed at Villa Les Dunes 1 a wonderful holiday. The house is very nicely renovated and furnished, the equipment is very generous. The care, the service by the housekeepers and the ``caretaker`` were first class, in particular also the meals, which they cooked for us. The environment is very quiet, the small beaches lonely, so you can spend a relaxing holiday here. We enjoyed her time very much.

The house was perfect- it is right on the beach, very private, great pool and outdoor area overlooking the water. The upstairs suite is wonderful and you can hear the waves at night. The downstairs bedrooms are smaller and perfect for kids. It is very private, set back from the road. The staff was great and daily cleaning person spoke perfect English and French.

I would recommend a car if you are looking to get out and about around the island. Within walking is La Maison d'Ete which has a really good restaurant, as well as the Centara spa.

Overall a great pick in terms of a villa on Mauritius.
